I helped lead a small team that developed a free educational resource for students in rural areas with minimal education funding. We created programming lessons focusing on scientific applications, which we currently host on our website. We also developed several pilot workshops and partnered with other organizations (such as YES for CURE and HPREP) to run them with high school students and collected and integrated feedback for improvement. These workshops were designed for a wide range of class sizes; in total, we worked with >100 high school students. We also ran a workshop with science teachers, after which their average interest in integrating coding exercises into their classroom increased from 3.4/5.0 to 4.6/5.0. We also applied for and won three Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching grants to support our work.

In these roles, I selected and organized groups of graduate student speakers. I also coordinated practice lectures and provided extensive feedback and edits. DayCon: Planet Earth was a day-long scientific conference for laypeople to learn about Earth science and climate change (which ultimately had ~100 attendees). The Fall Lecture Series is an annual 8-lecture series designed for laypeople to learn about various topics in cutting-edge scientific research.
